Code of Conduct

Agile21’s mission is to support people and organizations who explore, apply and expand Agile values, principles and practices. In support of this mission, Agile21 wants to ensure a respectful, safe, and inclusive environment for everyone whenever and wherever they participate in our activities.

We do not tolerate harassing or disrespectful behaviour, interactions, messages, or images by any participant in any Agile21 activity, in any form. This includes all our business and social activities regardless of location and online events and spaces. We encourage everyone to help in creating a welcoming and safe environment. Please report to us any concerns, harassing behaviour, or suspicious or disruptive activity.

Our Code of Conduct applies to all the participants in any activity, including attendees, speakers, sponsors, volunteers, contributors, etc. that must agree and behave accordingly to our code of conduct.

Our activities may include in-person and online conferences and gatherings, sponsored events, initiatives, and online contributions. Agile21 reserves the right to refuse admittance to, or remove any person from an activity at any time at its sole discretion.

The following are considered to be a breach of the Code of Conduct:

  •  intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, derogatory, or demeaning conduct;
  •  inappropriate physical contact, or unwelcome sexual attention.
  •  deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following;
  •  offensive verbal or written comments related to gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, race, ethnicity, age, religion, political views, and technology choices;
  •  sustained disruption of talks or other events;
  •  inappropriate use of nudity and/or sexual images in public spaces (including presentation slides);
  •  harassing photography or recording;

Sexual language and imagery are inappropriate for any situation, including talks, workshops, special events, meetings, and online presentations.

Event sponsors should not use sexualized images, activities, or other material.

Staff (including volunteers) should not use sexualized clothing/uniforms/costumes or create a sexualized environment.

Some physical venues are shared with members of the public; please be respectful to all people of these locations. Event participants cannot run any business activities related that compete direct or indirectly with the business goals of the organizers or sponsors.

Conference, event organizers, volunteers, and Agile21 staff will enforce this code throughout our activities.

If a participant engages in misconduct behaviour in any activity, violating the Code of Conduct, it will be asked to stop the behaviour and is expected to comply immediately.

Agile21 may take any action it deems appropriate, including reporting to authorities. Participants violating these rules may be expelled from an event without a refund at the sole discretion of the conference organizers.

Every incident is important, no matter how minor it might seem at the time. Please seek help as soon as possible for anything considered a breach of the Code of Conduct. You should also report all incidents as soon as possible after the incident occurs.

Everyone is responsible for creating and maintaining a safe and respectful environment. As such, you should report incidents:

  •  If it is something that has happened to you
  •  If someone shared something with you, or you were with them when it happened
  •  If you saw something happen from afar

At a conference or in-person event, if you need help or need to report an incident, please contact one of our staff immediately. Conference staff can be identified as they’ll be wearing branded clothing and/or badges.

At a virtual event, you can contact the event host.

If you cannot find any of these people, you can also email us: [email protected]. Content entered using this email will be sent only to the CEO and Chief of Operations.
